Chemical composition of Earth's atmosphere

  • nitrogen (N2): 78.08 %
  • oxygen (O2): 20.95 %
  • carbon dioxide (CO2): 0.041 % (2021)
  • water vapor (H2O): ~ 1 % (variabel)
  • traces of CH4, N2O, O2, Ar ...

The most important gases for the natural greenhouse effect (Without the greenhouse effect we would have temperature decreased about 33°C) are water vapor and carbon dioxid. The increasing production of CO2 by mankind in the last centuries has also increased the greenhous effect. The result is a global climate warming. (some scientists and countries deny this)
